Ganitha does not collect any personal information or usage data. Specifically:
- We do not collect browsing history
- We do not collect page content
- We do not collect mathematical expressions you view
- We do not collect any personal identifiers
- We do not use analytics or tracking
Local Processing
All mathematical content processing happens entirely within your browser:
- MathML to plaintext conversion is performed locally
- No data is ever sent to external servers
- No internet connection is required for core functionality
Storage
Ganitha uses chrome.storage.sync only to save your preferences:
- Display settings (colors, fonts, sizes)
- Feature toggles (control panel visibility, output mode)
- Extension enabled/disabled state
These preferences are stored locally on your device and synced via your browser account if you have sync enabled.
Permissions
Ganitha requires the following permissions:
- storage: To save your preferences locally
- activeTab: To interact with the current page
- host_permissions (all_urls): To detect and convert MathML on any website you visit
Third-Party Libraries
Ganitha does not include any third-party libraries. All conversion logic is custom-built and runs entirely locally.
Children's Privacy
Ganitha is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
